Giovanni Albesano (and his American wife Amanda) dedicate this wine to his grandparents, who used the affectionate term "delinquente" (delinquent) to scold naughty behavior when Giovanni was a kid. This is a boutique, organic winery with a small vineyard and an annual production of about 4,000 bottles. This wine offers a very different approach to the Nebbiolo grape. The focus is on sweet red berry aromas, with wild strawberry and cherry at the front. You also notice a developed mineral side with crushed aspirin or oyster shell. Thanks to those leading aromas, our little Delinquent offers a ton of cheerful drinking pleasure and varietal purity. The wine is simple in character, but it awards a lot of joy. Giovanni Albesano and his wife Amanda farm this tiny organic vineyard in Castagnole Lanze. This pure expression of Nebbiolo is an exciting discovery, and I look forward to following this estate's future releases.
